LOS ANGELES (AP) — Memorabilia from “Friends”, artwork and other treasures from Matthew Perry’s estate were being auctioned to benefit the nonprofit foundation set up in the actor’s name shortly after his 2023 death.
The sale on June 5, hosted by Heritage Auctions, will benefit the Matthew Perry Foundation, which is dedicated to destigmatising addiction and supporting recovery from substance abuse.
‘Matthew felt addiction should be handled with compassion and science, not stigma and silence,’ said Lisa Kasteler Calio, CEO of the charity, in a statement. “This auction is helping to fund the foundation’s work to expand access to evidence-based care and fight stigma. This is just one more way we ensure no one has to combat this disease alone.”
